Much of the original silver wash still remains on this coin, highlighting the beautiful detail in the armour and the gem studded cloak Probus wears over it. On many of these types, the emperor is wearing a round or rectangular medallion. Occasionally, a coin is found in which the nedallion around the emperor's neck bears an image of a horse and rider.
