The ADVENTUS AVG legend on this coin translates loosely as "Cometh the Emperor!" Probus raises his hand in salute to a crowd on cheering Romans as he symbolically rides down an enemy prisoner. Notice the attention to detail in the horse's legs and the studded straps across the horse's rump and chest. Notice also the crude modeling of facial features in the human figures.
