Pieces like this abound at coin shows and are a bargain at four to eight dollars each from dealers' "junk boxes". By spending time reading books, browsing on - line, and studying the actual coins at shows, neophyte collectors will be able before long to recognize this as a portrait of Gallienus regardless of the legibility of the inscription.
