Back to Renaissance Scotland Image List.

Second page of images just added recently. These include some taken at Neperdac Hall 1996, Ardenwood Park 1997, and Dunsmuir House, both 1996 and 1997. Includes some of HRM Mary, Queen of Scotland and the Isles.

Neperdak Hall, 1996

I am having a hard time reading my handwriting. I was furiously scribbling, trying to get all the details on paper and hoping I could match up to the images later, after the prints came back from the lab.

Lady Sophia K. Randolph is Elizabeth A. Kaylor in real life.

Isaac Edward Randolph is Stephen hall in real life.

-- The following is taken from an informal interview with Lady Rising at Neperdak Hall just before the festivities began (and the lights went out!)

Lady Karrah Lattice Rising, a Lady of the English Court, was handfasted to (and later married to?) Lord Wallace, Treasurer of Scotland and Lord of Craiglee Castle.

Rising Castle is in Lynn Ensley (or Lynn Easley, I can't read my writing) in Norfolk County. Queen Isabelle (or Isabella) stayed there a lot of the time (at the time?) The Eleventh generation Rising ancestors were amongst the first settlers in Massachusetts. Rising House in Boston is still standing today

Craiglee Castle actually exists in Scotland. Writing after the fact, it appears that Lord Wallace is being played by a reenactor who is a relative of the Wallace clan OR the present day owners of the castle.

Information Gleaned at the Monterey Highland Games, 1996

Seoras HacGregor has two daughters, Yvette and jasmine MacGregor. I believe Seoras said he was a senechal to His Grace Sir James Melville.

Information Gleaned at Monterey and Neperdak Hall, 1996

Lady Rose Inga MacGeorge is a Shield Maiden to Her Majesty and His Grace Sir John Melville. The Shield Maiden as a position at court is derived from ancient Norse custom, according to what Lady Rose and I have been told.

Ian Troy Shaw is one of Her Majesty's Black Watch Highland Guard with whom I talked at Dunsmuir House.

Information Gleaned at Dunsmuir House, 1997.
