The Triumph of Probus

Obverse:
IMP CM AVR PROBVS AVG Cuirassed bust of Probus holding eagle - tipped sceptre facing left. Draped over his armor, Probus appears to be wearing a richly degorated robe of heavy, embroidered cloth. This is possibly a consular robe, a symbo;ic vestment of office. The large medallion he wears around his neck is square in this case. On most coins in which Probus wears one, it is usually round.

Reverse:
SOLI INVICTO CXXIM Sol in quadriga facing viewer with four galloping horses.

The coin is listed in David Sear's Roman Coins and their Values as s3379.
