Reverse:
VIRTVS PROBI AVG, XXIT in exergue. Probus on horseback left with shield and spear riding down captive. The emperor Probus is shown in the act of riding down an enemy captive on the reverses of many of his coins. Reverses include ADVENTVS PROBI AVG and VIRTVS PROBI types. Probus completed the long difficult process of ridding the Roman Empire of foreign barbarians begun by Claudius II Gothicus and Aurelian over a decade earler.

IMP CM AVR PROBVS PF AVG Bust of Probus facing left holding eagle - tipped sceptre.
