Roman Republic Denarius

On this victory in biga reverse, the two chariot horses rear and paw the air. Despite the largeness of the horses' heads and necks in comparison with the rest of their bodies, the piece has a certain balance and charm. T. CLOVLI, the name of the moneyer who was responsible for the striking of this denarius is in the exergue below the chariot wheel and horses' hooves.
