The mint lettering scheme on this piece does not seem to line up with any of the varieties cataligued by Carson, Hill, and Kent in their very thorough volume covering late Roman mints and mint marks on the bronze. Another inconsistency is the reversal of the Q and the K P letter groups. Carrson, Hill, and Kent show the K and P in the left field; they very clearly appear in the right field on this coin. One possible explanation is that the piece might be barbarous. If it is barbaous, it is clearly not of degenerate style or undersized.
