Two Soldiers, One Standard Type of Constantine II

The extremely sharp strike and the nice state of preservation of this tiny AE4 has produced a portrait of Constantine II as sharp as the day it left the Antioch mint. Much of the original silver wash remains, giving the coin an overall pearly lustre through which the gray and green of the patina can ve seen. This piece cost the author only thirty five dollars at RudySchroeter's shop in Palo Alto, California. The coin is about 15 mm in diameter.
