Mural Crown

The mural crown is usually worn by the city tyche or patron goddess and represents her protection of the city. In this coin image, walls, towers, and the arches in the gates can be clearly seen. Unfortunately, most coins on which the tyche is portrayed wearing a mural crown are found in a much more worn state than this one was. The author was lucky to find it at a local show.
