Like the previous example in this series, this coin has the name of the city issuing it prominently displayed in the exergue of this coin. ROMA, the Latin name for Rome, was often prominently displayed on both the silver and the copper coinage of this period. During the Imperial period, the coinage bore the inscription of the emperor or one of his family. Some coins bore the inscription SC, denoting the Roman Senate. SC is an abbreviation for senatus consulto.
