This is a nicely executed bust of the emperor Gallienus. The coin is quite a bit nicer than the photograph leadu us to believe because the coin has a very uniform dark gray toning with a satiny surface that results in a rather flat, low contrast image due to the lighting chaacteristics of the scanner. It cost the author beween twelve and twenty - five dollars and is overall a quite pretty coin with an equally nice reverse A little bit of raggedness and pitting cover one side near the rim but don't distract the viewer too much because the main devices are not affected.
