About This Image

This image is probably of Cleopatra I. The coin is a Syrian coin struck by the Seleukid rulers who were descended from one of Alexander the Great's generals. Though most of the face is corroded away, much of the hair style is still visible. Most of the coins featuring a portrait of Cleopatra VII are quite worn and were crudely struck to begin with. The portraiture on them is quite similar to the portrait on this coin.
